Opera for Monsters

Opera for Young Audiences

Children today live under the specters of all manner of monsters: the pandemic, climate change, uncertainty about the future. There are also children in communities that have been deemed the “monsters” of our society. Opera for Monsters wants to give children a safe place to process their feelings about any of these monsters through the transcendent emotional experience that only opera can provide. The piece will be inspired by art created by students via in-class workshops led by director and arts educator Hannah Dworkin.
